The recommendation:
Four years ago our firm, GL Veneer Co., Inc. outsourced our network management to Cal Net Technologies Group. By far we have received the most responsive and cost competitive service to be found anywhere in Southern California.
I credit this success to the leadership of Zachary Schuler, President and CEO of Cal Net Technology Group. He embodies the finest leadership qualities that are reflected in his very professional and highly effective team of technicians and support staff. I have also heard stories of legendary staff-member pickup basketball and volleyball games that reflect the competitive teamwork philosophy Zachary stresses.
Zachary demonstrates his commitment to his ideals with an “Open Door” policy wherein his customers have direct access to him when the need arises. I have availed myself of this policy only twice in our 4 year relationship and was rewarded with quick and extremely satisfying results. He is a man of his word and he leads exceptionally talented resources to bring rapid and cost effective solutions to business requirements.
Testimonials to Zachary’s success have been published in the Los Angeles Business Journal and the Los Angeles Times. He serves with several industry associations (Heartland Group, Vistage CEO peer group). Zachary also gives back to the community with his philanthropic work with Opportunity International where he participates on the Board of Governors.
As a VERY satisfied customer, I am proud to nominate Zachary Schuler, President and CEO of Cal Net Technologies Group, for this Professional Excellence and Innovation Award.
Walter Otto, CIO and General Manager
Gl Veneer Co., Inc.
In the days of most startups, very few of them start organically, and completely fund their own growth. Zachary started his business with next to no capital other than intellectual capital, and completely funded his organization with the profits made by the company. He never took out any loans to grow the business, and has now grown his business to a $9M/year consulting firm.
Beginning with a solid foundation in business management, marketing, and I.T. systems, Zack founded Cal Net Technology Group in 1995 in order to fill a growing need for quality technology consulting services for the small and middle market. Zack’s leadership, dedication and focus have helped build Cal Net into a thriving company of talented technology consultants and engineers, relied upon by hundreds of businesses and considered by Microsoft as one of their top partners in Los Angeles. In addition to his keen business skills, Zack possesses a profound understanding of emerging technology and its purpose in diverse business industries, working closely with product manufacturers to help them develop and improve solutions for corporate systems. Mr. Schuler earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from California State University Northridge, and a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer designation back in 1997. He is an active member of the Heartland Technology Group, a nationwide council of I.T. service industry executives, as well as a member of the Vistage CEO peer group. He has been awarded the “40 under 40” award from the San Fernando Valley Business Journal and his accomplishments have been recognized and opinions published in the Los Angeles Business Journal, the Los Angeles Times, Computer Reseller News (CRN), and many other news media outlets. Zack spends much of his free time with his wife and 3 children, is an avid cyclist and paddle surfer, and is on the Board of Governors for a nonprofit called Opportunity International.
